23 Feb 2019 Bob Doubles practice
Kinver, 2pm to 4pm. All welcome. Please come along.
Saturday 23 March - Grandsire Triples
Kinver, 2 to 4 pm. Training Session for those learning to progress from Doubles to Triples, including opportunities for calling. Some easy touches will be circulated beforehand to encourage those new to either ringing or conducting this classic method.
Friday 24 May - 10/12 bell practice
Stourbridge 7.30 to 9.00pm. An opportunity for those interested in ringing on the higher numbers; methods will be rung according to knowledge and ability - so will be restricted to methods mastered on 6 and 8 - e.g. Grandsire, Stedman, Little Bob, Cambridge. Probably will include Plain Bob Caters, Erin Cinques.
Saturday 1st June - Bell Handling Session
Kidderminster 10.00 to 12.00am. After the success of the last one, another session for tutors and learners at Kidderminster. Come and learn together, compare handling problems and cures, ring on different weight bells, try early setting/handling exercises.
Friday 27 September - Superlative Surprise Major
Venue TBA, 7.30 - 9.00pm. A practice which will include touches, and half-lead bobs, for those interested in surprise major. This should complement our regular practices at Wolverley, in order to encourage short touches rather than just plain courses at practices.
Striking: at a number of suitable occasions during these and other practices, mention will be made of listening skills, and how striking should be at the forefront of personal progress. It is important that ideas for improvement - especially when 'leading' - should be implemented at all times when ringing - not just at the practice mentioned.
Other methods: At Kidderminster we will be learning the RW Diary method for January ' Cooktown Orchid Delight Major', particularly the 'Third Thursday' practice of each month (Jan - March). We will also practice Double Norwich (major), so that we can introduce that as a training method during the Summer. Remember also that each 'First Thursday' at Kidderminster, we will ring on 10 & 12 bells.
