Southern Branch Striking Competition 2022

The Southern Branch striking competition was held at Stoulton on Saturday 19th November 2022 prior to the Branch AGM. and judged by David Struckett (Northern Branch Training Officer)

Change Ringing

A close competition with some good ringing enjoyed by the judge.
1st Eckington 11 faults. Steady rounds good pace, occasional errors especially near the end. Middle section especially good
2nd Bredon’s Norton 12 faults. Steady start, smallest of errors mostly resulting from lateness
3rd Pershore 14 faults. Good pace few faults but some variation in speed
4th Feckenham 18 faults. Good start, pace changes errors towards the end
5th Stoulton 21 faults. Steady rounds, good pace, occasional errors especially near the end.

Call Changes

Results show the importance of leading, some handstroke lead gaps either too large or missing.
1st Eckington 29 faults. A little erratic with faults accumulating, but overall a good effort.
2nd Great Comberton 33 faults. A little unsteady.
2nd Pershore 33 faults steady after a lumpy start, nice queens and whittingtons, crunchy in middle.
4th Childswickham 46 faults. Started slow accumulated errors due to this. Variations in pace.
